Materials

I use a variety of method books in my lessons. For piano, I focus mostly on the Piano Safari series, though I have also taught the Bastion and Alfred books as well. On guitar I will be use the Hal Leonard method books, as well as the Berklee Guitar Method book. On saxophone I use a variety of sources, but usually I will include samples from the Universal Method for Saxophone.

Additionally, starting in 2026, I will also be providing my own practice method cards as a way to aid the students in their practice outside of lessons

Recitals

Starting in 2025 I am pleased to hold an annual end of the year recital in Brooklyn that all of my students are encouraged to participate in! I take great pains to make this performance experience as relaxed and comfortable as possible, and to support every student through preparation, encouragement, and emotional support.

Depending on interest, I may do a mid year performance workshop as well to help students get practice performing in a different atmosphere, and to help workshop the challenges of playing on stage.

Audition Prep

I have experience helping prepare for middle school and high school auditions, and will incorporate these pieces into our curriculum in as natural a way as possible. My primary goal is to foster the best overall growth of musicianship, and these types of pieces and deadlines can make for strong motivators for practice and attention.
